Eye Direction and Lying

For those of you who are questioning the eye movement/lying thing---- HERE is a good site to explain it. THIS is another. When they say LEFT they mean your left - so when a person looks to THEIR right (your left) - it is MADE UP, a lie:

How this information is used to detect lies:

Example: Let's say your child ask's you for a cookie, and you ask them "well, what did your mother say?" As they reply "Mom said... yes." they look to the left (your left, their right). This would indicate a made up answer as their eyes are showing a "constructed image or sound. Looking to the right (their left) would indicPublish Postated a "remembered" voice or image, and thus would be telling the truth.

The link you provide also cautions thusly:
"In reality, it would be foolish to make such a snap judgment without further investigation... but the technique does have some merit."
and:
"*** As with other signs of lying, you should first establish and understand a persons base-behavior before concluding they are lying by the direction of their eyes."
and

"In reality . . ."
To assume that eye direction can unfailingly provide evidence as to whether a person is lying or not, is to *ignore* reality.
Which is nuts.

My son is a qualified NLP practioner.
Would you like me to ask him his opinion?

Kippa,
exactly, you must know the person's character. We already know he's a liar....he looked at the camera and very easily told the American people he did not know that his racist, hate strewn pastor was preaching such things for the last 20 YEARS.....
watch a few interviews, when they ask him about it - THAT's when he looks away - guess what direction? He is making up answers (he could have his eyes closed and I'd know that).

"We already know he's a liar."
I don't know any such thing.

"Obama said the pastor had said some "very objectionable things when I wasn't in church on those particular days."

But he also stressed that Wright gave at least three sermons a week for 30 years, and that people opposed to Obama's candidacy had found "five or six of his most offensive statements" and boiled them down to play over and over, mainly on YouTube."

Obama has also come out and denounced those "offensive statements".

Personally I don't think wobbly eyes (pretty indistinct on the interviews that I've viewed, and I've viewed a lot of them) confirm anything.
In my opinion you're looking for confirmation for what you want to believe. Of course, you're perfectly entitled to say the same of me.

And incidentally, my father was a minister who gave hundreds of sermons over the years. Even regular church goers would have missed most of them.

I wonder who Kippa is voting for? Just another blind liberal. I guess he wasn't as faithful about attending church then as he claims. Maybe someone out there isn't looking down their garlic nose at the pastor but he sure is looking down his biggoted nose at them...and he has said enough things that children in the congregation is hearing - for shame... and you better bet that Obama knows this guys character....it's not something that just may "pop out" once or twice..... don't be naive people.
Liar, liar...."I was never in the congregation when he said things like this".... please.

I'm not voting for Obama. I think he's too much of a socialist for my taste.

But I also don't necessarily think he's an out and out liar either. Until someone can prove he was at one of those sermons, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, eye movements or no.

By the way, what's a "garlic nose"?

Beth, this has been going on for years and Obama claims to be a good Christian who goes to church---he has been going there for 20 years. No one can tell me this is all new to him....
A "Galic Nose" is a racial slur against Italians...
