Adoption is wonderful

Sometimes I get distracted. I have gotten off onto political talk because I feel that my daughter's future is at stake. She is the most precious thing in the world to me.

I will probably keep talking about it and I don't care who disagrees. Those who do don't know much anyway...:)

I forget that my child is adopted and I forget I am adopted. It's just not that much a part of our lives....but ut sure has made our lives wonderful....

Happy extra day tomorrow!!!

If you vote for a Democrat...

Those of you who think it's just "change" we need....have you thought about what happens when the Democrats pull everyone out of the Middle East? When foreign policy goes down the crapper?

Listen to THIS and realize it is someone who KNOWS what they are talking about....not an armchair politician like all the "change" seekers.

The Idiots who Blindly Follow Barrack Hussien Obama

They are out there people, the blind Democrats who only are interested in "Change". They don't believe we have a world of terrorists, or people who want to kill us. They think they can solve everything by giving everyone insurance and more welfare. They believe that the war in Iraq is about Oil (that's my favorite). They listen to CNN, the liberal media and people on Saturday night live instead of thinking for themselves, researching and coming up with intelligent conclusions. I'm sick of people that are so uneducated, taught by those liberal public school teachers that are "dumbing down" their students. Study the facts people....do you REALLY know what Obama (or Hillary for that matter) believes in? - OKAY....the challenge....name one good think Obama has done. Come on....

OBAMA is an Idiot...

It is such a shame that some so many Americans take what this man says hook, line and sinker. They are like stupid sheep........He says nothing people!....listen to any speech and he says absolutely nothing that has to do with what he will do for this country except change, change, change, hope ,hope, hope. People want to hear those things, he tickles their ears and they eat it up.

He reminds me of a high school senior running for student council president. He promises that every senior will have every other day off school, they'll all make As without studying and free pizza ever day for lunch.... a bunch of empty promises to get elected....give 'em what they want to hear...

Tonight I heard him say he was going to end poverty --- now, that sounds wonderful but come on, he's going to END poverty????? Who does this guy think he is? And HOW will he do that?
He said he's going to TALK to our enemies and use diplomacy instead of war. I actually laughed. Let's send him over to TALK to the suicide bombers, that'll do it. Let's send him over....to talk to Kim Yong-Il in North Korea....I'm sure they would get along. Let's send him over to "talk" to the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad....he's such a reasonable man. Please....Mr. Obama, talk to them because even though we have had experts working on that, I'm sure you could do something they didn't do. And while you're at it, why don't you end poverty in those countries as well.....

He may be the Antichrist....otherwise why would people be so blind ..... Start thinking for yourselves people....look up this man's record!!!

And, if you don't quit quoting J.F.K. I think I'll puke.....President Kennedy you ain't B. Hussien Obama!

A Tough Case

This young woman made some bad decisions....she relinquished her rights and lied under oath that she was raped and the father was a friend of a friend. In actuality she lived with the father and he was in jail at the time of the child's birth for abusing her. The judge had no choice but to side with the adopted parents.

This, I'm sure, is one of those cases the judge doesn't want to ever have to decide....but the girl legally signed away her rights....as far as the law is concerned, she is not the legal mother anymore.

It shows you that making a decision to do something can change your life. I had a friend who made the decision to jump into a car with a friend who decided to run into a gas station and rob them. It was not my friend's idea but he went to jail anyway.

A girl could have a baby and let a guy live with her that abuses that baby...she may make the decision to leave that baby with the guy while she goes out---- the guy could shake the baby and cause his/her death. It's a tragedy, a very bad decision that cannot be changed. You can't go back and "re-do" some things, even though you want to....

OBAMA - Anti-life

Sen. Barack Obama portrays himself as a thoughtful Democrat who carefully considers both sides of controversial issues, but his radical stance on abortion puts him further left on that issue than even NARAL Pro-Choice America.

In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortions. That same year a similar federal law, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was signed by President Bush. Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously on a voice vote.

Both the Illinois and the federal bill sought equal treatment for babies who survived premature inducement for the purpose of abortion and wanted babies who were born prematurely and given live-saving medical attention.

So---- if you tried to kill a baby but it was born anyway - alive - Mr. Obama thinks it's okay to go ahead and end the poor baby's life.....outside the womb. Okay, not enough of a murderer....?

Jill Stanek, a registered delivery-ward nurse who was the prime mover behind the legislation after she witnessed aborted babies’ being born alive and left to die, testified twice before Obama in support of the Induced Infant Liability Act bills. She also testified before the U.S. Congress in support of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

Stanek told me her testimony “did not faze” Obama.
In the second hearing, Stanek said, “I brought pictures in and presented them to the committee of very premature babies from my neonatal resuscitation book from the American Pediatric Association, trying to show them unwanted babies were being cast aside. Babies the same age were being treated if they were wanted!”

“And those pictures didn’t faze him [Obama] at all,” she said.
Cold......

As a senator, Obama has opposed measures to criminalize those who transport minors across state lines for the purpose of obtaining an abortion.

At a townhall meeting in Ottawa, Ill., Joanne Resendiz, a teacher and mother of five, asked him: “How are you going to vote on this, keeping in mind that 10, 15 years down the line your daughters, God forbid, could be transported across state lines?”

Obama said: “The decision generally is one that a woman should make.”
I think we are all doomed if he wins......what a sicko.....
Prospective Adoptive Parents

Don't be dismayed and discouraged by nay sayers. There were a few angry bloggers out there (there are always going to be a few) who will try to discourage you, but for those considering adoption, it can be the most wonderful thing you ever did.....the biggest blessing of your life.

I would never go back to any of the infertility treatments and I'm mad we didn't adopt sooner. If I had the money I would do it 4 or 5 more times. I love love love my sweet baby!

Germaphobe

People who know me know I am a bit hypersensative about germs. Especially after my MRSA episode. Even though I know germs and bacteria are everywhere I am freaked out every time I read one of those articles about where germs lurk. Web MD is the great but they are the worst at spreading the germ news:

Top 12 worst places for germs and bacteria:--I guess in order
1.The Kitchen sink
2. Airplane bathrooms
3. A load of wet laundry (read this one for sure - it's gross)
4. PUblic drinking fountains
5. Grocery cart handles
6. ATM buttons
7. Your purse (this one freaks me out almost the most)
8. playgrounds
9. Mats and exercise equipment
10. Your bathtub (bad for post MRSA fears)
11. Your office phone
12. Hotel room remote

Go HERE to read about each one.....

I travel and stay at hotels....and I know people who work for/have worked for hotels.
When I walk into a hotel room (no matter how nice it is), the first thing I do is flush the toilet, use paper to lift the seat to see how clean the rim is. Then I turn on the TV...if one of those things are not satisfactory, I call to get another room. If those things are okay, I rip the bedspread off (turning it onto itself) and put it in the corner of the room. I tear off the blanket too - you know the blankets are not washed regularly and the bedspreads are rarely washed (if ever). Then I turn back the sheet to look between it and the fitted sheet. I call the desk and ask for another blanket and extra towels. They are forced to bring me a washed blanket....
I always keep a zip lock baggy in my suitcase.... I put the remote in it and operate the remote through the baggy. When they bring the extra towels I cover the chair in the room with towels....I can either sit it it or put my luggage in it. And I always bring my own pillow......who knows what they have done with that pillow or who has put their head (or whatever else on it).
THEN I can relax.......

Oh, never use the glass or coffee mug or coffee maker they provide......never.

What do some hospitals do with babies that are aborted but still alive? Throw them in the 'dirty room.' What happens if a nurse reports such treatment? They're fired. What happens when hospitals violate the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and falsify legal documents? nothing....

A nurse named 'Abby' found an aborted baby boy that was still alive in the hospital 'dirty' room, left unattended to die. She reported this incident as well as other similar ones, but sadly, babies are aborted alive more often than is known...even to the mothers.

A friend of a friend has a ministry right outside a large city in the US with prostitutes and "thr*w away babies". I looked up the phrase and the above website came up - quite horrible to think about.
But the "thr*w away babies that this woman works with are babies that would normally be abandoned because the birthmothers are prostitutes that did not/would not get an abortion but cannot/does not want to keep their babies. They arrange with this woman by telling this her when they are giving birth...they walk out of the hospital and hand over their baby knowing that she will find them a good home. She has a lawyer she works with setting up immediate guardianship and after so many days they file abandonment papers....adoption to follow. These girls never know what race the baby will be and not only do they not know who the father is but they don't know if the father was on drugs, has AIDS, whatever. What a wonderful ministry, letting these girls at least know they haven't aborted their babies but they can know they let their babies have a good home....
My friend is going in March to pick up a baby (if they mother hands the child over).... she is so nervous......

I love this site... It puts faces on adoption. It shines a positive light into the dark places of a world that does not understand adoption or has a skewed view.

Did you know...?
Nearly 40% of adult Americans have seriously considered adopting a child at some point.

Their goal is as follows:
Adoption: An American Revolution will show how adoption affects all of us in America today.
Nearly 100 million Americans — one-third of our population — have had their own families re-shaped by adoption. Even so, adoptive families and birth parents still suffer from widespread and damaging myths and prejudices; thoughtful, realistic portrayals of adoption in the media are rare. Adoption: An American Revolution will promote greater understanding of adoption's unique role in embracing social differences and diversity in America today.

The project will help develop and support our understanding of a new, more expansive definition of "family."

The project will help viewers understand the many ways adoption is changing American families and communities. It will demonstrate how adoption contributes complexity, a respect for differences, and a reminder that we can always make space in our hearts for others.

Through intimate stories and expert testimony, the project will reveal adoption as a complex and deeply personal experience.

Adoption is filled with powerful emotional truths: love and grief, personal bonds relinquished and others created. The Adoption project will explore these experiences in interviews with adoptive and birth parents and extended families, with adopted children and adults, and adoption professionals and experts.

Even now, the portrayal of adoption in the media is filled with negative stereotypes and images. Audiences are shown "Who's Your Daddy" and told this is the story of adoption.
The true story of adoption still needs to be told, with passion, depth and honesty. This is why we want to bring our adoption film, Adoption: An American Revolution to public television. But we can only do it with your help.

WGBH has secured partial funding from the CPB/PBS Program Challenge Fund but they still need your help. If you can donate, please do. The people who know adoption has changed their lives for the better need to stand up and refute all the bad reports out there....so give if you can.
At the least pray for them and their efforts....sounds like a great project!

It's an OBOMINATION

I don't know who would be worse.....I really don't.....

Look at the numbers of abortions done this year on THIS site....when I looked at it the number was over 4.5 million and the number of abortions done to save the mother was just under 124,000. That is just so sad.
DON'T Double-Dip!

Last week I heard the results of an experiment in double dipping. Prof. Paul L. Dawson of Clemson University wanted to test the conventional wisdom that re-dipping a chip after you’ve bitten some off will spread germs in the community dip. Of course, he had state-of-the-art equipment and plenty of students for his experiment, which found up to 10,000 bacteria CAN be transferred to the dip by each double-dipper. But people who have no such resources do their own experiments every day. :)

A year ago I wrote THIS post and I was reminded of it by a comment today. Thank you Alix for reminding me that I need to keep this message in the forefront. People need to know there are a lot of us out there and prospective adopted parents need to read positive things about the adoption experience. There are some bad blogs out there about adoption and it could be discouraging if you didn't realize they are the minority.
